HISTORY
Watson & Hunt Funeral Directors was founded in 1998 by Joseph Watson and Robert Hunt at a time when many local funeral homes were being purchased by large corporations. Since at the time all funeral homes in Grayson County were owned by large conglomerates, they saw this as an opportunity to build their own funeral home that would hold the traditions and standards that this community had held onto for generations.
Over the next few years, the firm would see success and support from this community, but also see tragedy. In December 2002, Joseph Watson passed away leaving his wife Debbie and youngest son, Jason, to take over the firm. A year later, Bob Hunt died as well. Overcoming these events, we have continued the traditions and standards set by Joe and Bob, serving each family with the respect and trust one would expect from their funeral directors and friends.
By respecting and honoring the traditions of this community, but still making way for the future, we have expanded our service options to tailor to the next generation of families as well as today’s.
